North East Schools: Understanding Energy and Sustainability
The 'North East Schools: understanding Energy and Sustainability' project started in June 2011. This project aims to develop a sustainable programme in Energy Education through Newcastle University engagement with Schools, Councils and Museums in the North East. We will develop educational resources based on the expectations and drivers of primary and secondary education, and explore ways in which our core expertise in energy research can inform curriculum across science, geography, environmental science, history and citizenship.
An example of our school activities can be found at the 'Swan Primary Schools Energy project' vimeo link - http://vimeo.com/26419730.
